Monsters in Harry Potter

Do you like Harry Potter? I mean, of course you do! If you’re like me, you could read the series over and over again. Next time you do, try to pay more attention to the monsters in the sorcerer’s world. Here are a few:

1. Dementors

These are definitely one of the creepiest monsters. They are the creatures who guard Azkaban. Dementors are blind and only sense positive feelings. They feed on human happiness. The Dementor’s Kiss can be deadly as it can extract the soul of the living. Their dark cloaks cover their human-like body shape. When they appear, the atmosphere becomes gloomy and sinister. They give me chills!

2. Goblins

They could be considered as monsters when they use their cunning and cleverness to make deals and obtain what they want. They master the art of money and thus, they operate the Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

3. Dragons

Remember the dragons the student sorcerers had to face during the Triwizard Tournament? These terrifying creatures are very dangerous: they are giant winged, shoot fire, and especially aggressive. They are impossible to train and domesticate. In fact, the dragon you see above is a Hungarian Horntail (the dragon Harry Potter had to face).

4. Merpeople

They look like mermaids, but let’s just say they are diabolic mermaids. They have grey skin, sharp teeth, and a very aggressive approach. They have their own kingdom underwater and if a human intruder comes, they drag people to their deaths.

5.Voldemort

Obviously, let’s not forget our dear friend Voldemort. Not the most good-looking guy. Voldemort is the ultimate monster. He kills innocent sorcerers and wants to be the most powerful wizard. He uses his intelligence for evil purposes. He inspires fear. He has no human emotions, is not capable of love. Let’s just say he’s a pure psychopath.
